Smile Design
It is a personalized design process in modern dentistry. The basic need for a beautiful smile is beautiful teeth. An aesthetic smile can only be achieved if the teeth are in harmony with the lips, gingiva and other surrounding anatomical structures. There are many factors that affect the smile, such as age, gender, shape of face, lips, teeth and gums. In smile design, the form, color and arrangement of the teeth are meticulously designed to be in harmony with other tissues and are presented to the patient's liking before starting the treatment. In order to do this, a detailed oral examination is performed and impressions are taken before the operation is performed inside the mouth. On the plaster model, the teeth are shaped (wax-up) with white dental wax. After this study, a negative of the decided tooth form is created. Using a tooth-colored material, the same form is temporarily created (mock-up) in the patient's mouth. The patient can have a chance to evaluate the treatment planned in his mouth in 3D and real. It is very important in terms of doctor and patient communication. Changes to be made are discussed together and the preferred form is decided. It is a unique method to see the aesthetic result before starting any irreversible process.
